Monday’s discussion about the just-completed CPAC convention brought out the usual venom from Morning Joe’s liberal panel. MSNBC contributor Mike Barnicle couldn’t believe that the speaker who earned the event’s most rousing reception was “a moron, Sarah Palin.” Later on co-host Mika Brzezinski added to his disparagement by saying, under her breath, that Palin is “a multimillion dollar moron.”
The actual topic of discussion about CPAC on Morning Joe Monday was Ted Cruz’s perceived putdowns of war heroes Bob Dole and John McCain during his Thursday speech to the conference. Out of the blue Mike Barnicle turned the conversation to Palin:
I have a question. The word conservative can mean many things and has many definitions, but what does it say about a group, CPAC, where the most popular speaker, the one that received the most most rousing reception, is a moron, Sarah Palin. I mean she received a reception at that group that took the roof off the place. Sophomoric. Nearly libelous, not amusing. What does it say about that group?
After host Joe Scarborough tried to steer the conversation back to Cruz, Brzezinski ?brought them back to Palin and half said/half muttered under her breath, “a multimillion-dollar moron,” adding some similar insults against Palin as the segment wore down.
