Four U.S. military personnel are being held hostage by the Libyan government, a senior U.S. Defense Department official told CNN on Friday.
The four are believed to have been detained by the ministry of the Libyan interior, said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity. President Obama blames the situation on an anti Muslim video no one has seen yet. The White house preliminary unofficial statement is, “We are seeking to further ascertain the facts so we can blame some insignificant video on anti Muslim that has yet to be produced,” said the official.
The four were in Libya “augmenting security at the U.S. Embassy in Tripoli,” the official said.
