SANFORD — There has been a rash of shootings over the past two weeks in Sanford, FL involving black teens shooting other by black teens. There were so many killing s of blacks in Chicago over the past two weeks its like a war. But its black on black and leaders are SILENT!

No word whatsoever from all the race-baiters from the Trayvon Shooting. Folks, a black teen is shot every day in America. Usually by other black teens. This is an outrage. But the problem is, so called civil rights leaders wont say a word.

The Trayvon Martin case has been a total falsehood from the start and the only thing black leaders, including Barack Obama, are doing is spreading hate and fueling racial tensions for no reason! It’s causing division and strife in towns like Sanford and its fueling an up-rise from blacks to shoot other blacks and it HAS to stop! President Obama NOW is the time to speak up against hate crimes of black on black!

Vickie Little stayed up a bit longer than she usually did Sunday night watching television and slipped into a slumber.

Her sleep was punctuated by a knock at her door from police officers who had found her 17-year-old son collapsed on the street from a gunshot wound just a block away from their new home.

Little’s hands trembled as she lifted them to the back of her neck, showing reporters during a news conference at Sanford Police headquarters Friday where the bullet entered her boy’s body and left him paralyzed.

“He didn’t realize he was shot,” she said. “Why would they want to hurt or shoot anybody?”

Her son, Jamison Knight, was walking home from his girlfriend’s house on 13th Place near Mangoustine Avenue at 2 a.m. Monday when someone inside a vehicle drove up behind him and opened fire.

He never saw the shooter.

The bullet is still lodged in the teenager’s vertebrae after doctors decided not to remove it.

Jamison has no feeling from the waist down and can’t move much of his upper body, Little said.

Police said the teenager is one of four victims injured by gunfire in two “random shootings” this week.

Sanford police Investigator Trekelle Perkins said they’ve received little to no cooperation from the community though they know there were witnesses to Jamison’s shooting.

He urged residents to speak up.

“Enough is enough,” he said. “Cry out against these senseless shootings.”

Perkins said they have identified persons of interest in the case but have no suspects.

They are looking for a silver or gray vehicle in connection with the crime.

Acting police chief Capt. Darren Scott told the Orlando Sentinel the city has grappled with random drive-by shootings for several years and they are difficult cases to solve.

Most recently, three people — a pregnant woman and two men — were hurt when 30 shots were fired at 2:20 a.m. Wednesday at a crowd of people in the yard of a home in the 1400 block of 14th Street.

The woman, who has been pregnant for one month, was grazed by a bullet, suffering a scrape to her head near her ear.

Police are investigating possible connections between the two shootings. Wednesday’s shooting happened a block away from the attack on Jamison.

His frustrated mother made a public plea for residents to step foward with any information that might help investigators.

“Just call, please. Just call the police,” Little said. “You don’t have to give your name. Anything helps.”
